News & Announcements

Feb 14, 2025:

A message from our new president:

a lot of updates and key dates below following a great and efficient AGM last night. First of all, I'd like to thank our departing board members: Devin, Tom C., Kevin B., and AAA. Your work on behalf of the club is really appreciated.

Our new board consists of: Jeremy Gram (President), Blair Rush (VP), Francis Rosenberg (club co-captain with Blair), Jarad Kunzman (match secretary), John Black (Social Chair), Malav Shah (Treasurer), and George St. John (Social Media Chair). I am incredibly honored to have been elected President. This club means a lot to me, and I am eager to help serve however I can.

Thank you to those who stayed on or raised their hands to volunteer for the board. We will be looking for volunteers to deputy or serve on different committees in the coming weeks and months, so if you would like to get more involved, we would love to have your help.

There are a few key updates that I wanted to share with those who could not attend:

  1. First training will be Thursday March 6. Location TBD.

  2. Banquet will be Saturday March 29 at Bottom Lounge. Time and cost TBD.

  3. Cleveland tour: there are a few pieces to confirm for the broader spring schedule; however, we will be traveling to Cleveland to play the Rovers on 26 April. I highly suggest you prioritize attending. Tours are one of the best parts of rugby, and you never know how many more chances you'll get to travel with the boys. We owe Cleveland a trip, and I for one cannot wait to get after it with you all on the field and on the town.

  4. Club Division: as you may have heard, it is looking likely that we will be promoted from D3 to D2 for the fall season. This is not official yet, but we expect it to be confirmed in the next few weeks. This is a reward for consistent excellence over a multi-year period. I said it last night, but this is going to be a new challenge for the entire club, and I cannot wait to sink my teeth into it. We get so few chances to genuinely push ourselves to our limits and do hard things like this - let's make the most of it while retaining our identity as a club that pairs competitive excellence on the field with a killer social game off of it.

I am wicked excited to get back on the field in a few weeks and look forward to great turnout throughout the spring both on the field and for our various social events. If you have any questions or concerns about any of the points raised above, don't hesitate to reach out to myself, Blair, Coach Danny, or any other board members.
